Vlad the Impalers Brake and clutch Bleed Kit

    My review of Vlad the Impalers Brake and Clutch Bleed Kit

    Price: $20.00 (including shipping)

    Contents:

    2 Ea Industrial Sized Syringes

    2 Feet of Large Diameter Tubing (I asked for extra)

    2 Feet of Small Diameter Tubing (I asked for extra)


    Process:

    The tubing came secured to the syringes by small zip ties that were quite tight. I had thought at first that they might come off once wet with the brake fluid, but this was not the case. Once wet, the tubing stayed secure on the syringes. I have heard numerous stories of how difficult it was, or can be to bleed out the brakes and clutch on our beloved VFRs. I was quite concerned, as I was completely overhauling my brake system with new reservoirs, calipers, S/S Lines, pads, rotors, pretty much everything. I was somewhat nervous, as braking it quite important, more important than going fast, if you ask me. So once I got everything installed, I filled up the syringes with DOT 4 brake fluid, and attached the free end of the tubing to the brake, and clutch bleed ports. I would strongly suggest you test fit the tubing to the bleed ports to see which of the two diameters of tubing you need to use. I reverse filled the system, keeping the covers/lids off of the reservoirs so that the air can escape. I closely monitored how much fluid was going into the reservoirs, as I did not want to over fill them and have a huge mess on my hands. Once full, I closed the bleed ports, and removed Vlad’s kit. Since I was putting SpeedBleeders on, I was not finished yet. Once Vlad’s kit was removed I quickly and carefully removed the old bleed nipples, held my finger over the opening while I swapped over the rubber cover to the new SpeedBleeders then proceeded to install the new SpeedBleeders. Once the SpeedBleeders were installed I was able to bleed out any air that may have entered the brake and clutch system in a normal manner. The entire process for both front brakes, rear brake and clutch took around an hour. Mind you this was a completely new and dry system, with new components being installed after the initial fill.

    Summary: The kit came well packaged, and was the easiest thing to bleed my brakes and clutch with. It went ALOT easier than I thought it would, and I didn’t have any issues with air in my system after the bleeding process was completed. I definitely recommend this kit to anyone who is going to be doing an overhaul of their brake or clutch system!!! The price was well worth the time and trouble that it saved me from experiencing!!!
