As some of you fell'ers may have guessed (or seen Mr. Tink promoting), VFRWorld once again has the member map feature activated. This is a neat tool to see where we all are located around the globe. Also helpful for when you are on a trip, and need some help along the way (like Long washing your dirty bike in one of his MANY Speedo's), or just want to shoot the :bs: and put back a few frosties with a friendly face on your cross-country journey....

It is pretty simple. Click on the link below, and select "Update Your Location" in the upper left hand corner of the map. Now you have two options. Option 1: You have the option of typing in your location on the upper right handside of the map. Option 2: Once you click update your location it will drop a "marker balloon" around Southern Spain (approximately) as default. You can then take this marker with your mouse and move it to your location. You can use the zoom feature (hit the "+" ) to zoom into your locale in greater detail.

Once you do either one of these options, hit "Save Location" and you are done! If you made a mistake and forgot that you don't live in Zimbabwe, well it is easy to go back in and update your location and re-save it. Once you have updated your location, the VFRW hit squad will take any and all appropriate measures to collect any and all overdue payments....but we'll be nice about it!
    :chairshot:

NOTE: You don't have to put in your exact address, only a rough area, so that way you will not feel scared of us roughriders ending up on your front porch as Tink has so graciously added an example of below!

You also have the option to type in your town and state. After clicking "UPDATE YOUR LOCATION", a search box appears on the upper right corner. I just typed in the search field "Severance, CO" and it dropped a pin right on the town. Shuffleboard is not a requirement if you don't want to.

Put in your exact location and you're liable to find people drinking beer on your porch

Hmmmm...I just tried it again and mine works fine. Are you getting the main map screen (see below)? It may be an issue with your connection, may require shutting down your browser and reopening it. I'm guessing it has to be something local with your connection or PC since others have no issue. Either that, or like DiveFr said, you are "everywhere and nowhere" at the same....enjoy it!

Forgot- that happened to me too. I had to play shuffleboard to zoom back out and around to find that the system did place the pin in the right location.

No I just get a blank black screen and it won't let me enter anything at all. I'm at work so perhaps the firewall is doing something. I know I can't change anything so I will try from home tonight.

    :bump:

C'mon lads, doesn't anybody else want some random stranger to show up at your doorstep to drink all your beer(see below)? Man up and put your location on the map. It helps create a stronger VFRW network and entices more peeps to meet up. Read the first thread for details.

Hey that is kinda fun to surf the balloons and see where everyone is lurking. Yet as you say Jason, there are plenty of regular posters who aren't on the map yet.

Yes sir, and it would be much more fun to have them on the map. I mean, that way we have plenty of beer stops. :drinker:
