Hello, Im replacing my alternator, the plug from the alternator i bought is different from my original one (alternator dimentions are matching). I will be puting the old plug on my new alternator. All three wires are same color, can i stick them in the plug at any random order or is there any particular order the wires should be installed? If so how do i match the order?
Well yes that stator is toast. Regardless of the connector shapes - it does not matter which yellow wires connects to the equivalent RR wire as the yellow wires supply Alternating current to the stator input to the RR. Always disconnect the battery and make sure you properly locate the housing gromet, check that none of the yellow wires are exposed and ensure that they do not at any point touch/short against each other or any body part. For replacement installs, a lot of people prefer to solder and heat shink the connections rather than retain that connector/plug. By removing that connector plug you will remove a common failure point.
