VFR700F needs slightly longer brake lines

So, I installed some bar risers on my VFR700F, along with a Spiegler Superbike handlebar. It looks great and fits well. The problem I'm having now, is that the brake line that goes to the y adapter is too short.

So I figure I'll upgrade the 25 year old lines to braided lines (galfer, HAL, etc) and I'll likely rebuild all of the cylinders, new fluid, replace brake pads and potentially replace the front and rear master with a newer model off a newer bike.

My question is this:

Are the aftermarket lines a tight fit? I need about another inch or so of length on my front lines in order to hook into the brake master cylinder. I don't want to order stock lengths if they're not going to fit.

Anyone with aftermarket lines on a 2nd gen, could you take a pic?

Just measure the current length and order an inch or two longer from some place like Z1 enterprises or somewhere else that sells braided SS line in different lengths.

 

see, the prob is, that most lines out there are 2-line, not the oem 3-line, so measuring would have to be done differently.

 

I used to just take my lines to a local hydraulic supply that did lines and they would do them reasonable using my old banjo's.

 

Called cyclebrakes.com and they can do a kit for front/rear and it's only another $10 to add up to 7" to their stock VFR700 part.

 

I just rec'd the Galfer kits for the 2nd gen, both front and rear. Hopefully the part #s will help to locate the line kits a little easier (and maybe at a decent price too)...
