Does anyone know if the fuel filler door gasket is available anywhere? This is for an '87 VFR700.

Mine has become quite hard with age, so I need to push the fuel door shut with a bit of force before I can turn the key and get it out.

I checked Bike Bandit, and they don't seem to list it under their OEM parts catalog.

    THanks

The pins that lock need regular lube, as well as the key hole. Not in the manual.:eek-new:

For locks I found a lubricant called "Lock Ease" to be terrific. Has graphite in it which stays behind.

You have a door on your tank? Dang I feel cheated, or are you talking about the gas cap itself?

Thanks for the replies. I'll lube the lock, I'm sure that will help. It may well be most of the problem.

The gasket isn't offered individually. You would need to buy the entire cap assembly which is still available.

also, bike bandit isn't gonna be the cheapest. servicehonda.com for example has that cap assembly for like 15 bucks cheaper
