    I was considering getting a 1992 VFR400 for a commuting bike.
    It's 1hr & 15min one way...averaging 95 kms per hour.
Would that be suitable. Just love the looks of the 400's.
    How are they on gas?

That is a pretty rare bike to be put into a commuter role but hey why not. The bike is really small in terms of ergonomics so if you are a six footer it may be a real pain, literally. I wouldn't expect huge fuel economy either as it was a performance 400 designed to kick arse.

Like I said they are rare so I've never ridden one but I have read the reports and it is a cool ride. Parts may be an issue and take a little longer to get if needed so factor that in if you are relying on the bike with no back up.

Are you looking at the one in Clarington on Kijiji? I would love to have one too but just for fun weekend outings and track days.

+1 with Jethro.....If your gonna wear a bike out you should choose a bike with common parts and one that wont break your heart to see ruined.

400's are rare statside. If the price is right and the bike is in good shape it might be worth just having. Not a clue what the asking price of the bike or what kind of shape it's in. IMO, if you are just looking for a commuter, likely for the same bucks you can get something economical and relatively easy to get parts for.

Look for a post I made a few days ago in the general section "anybody want a NC30" as there are at least three currently available in Ontario. I was shocked and felt a post was called for but nobody even commented for some reason???? Strange.....

Thank you all for your valuable info.
I am 6' 6" tall...end of that idea. I would look like a circus monkey.
I will keep gluing my '86 750 back together for now.
