VFR World.com decals - PRICE REDUCED, see post #23

I am wanting to gauge interest here. I have a sample of a decal for www.vfrworld.com. The sample is silver in color, is 6" long by 1/2" high. To start I am thinking the colors will be white, black, red, silver, and carbon fiber. I can get them in other colors as well like metallics. The font on the sample is standard Arial font. I would like your suggestions. I am thinking that cost to members will be about $5.00 shipped to you. This will cover the cost of having them produced and getting them to you. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks,

    Vin

Vman, is this the same silver that the wing is colored? Looks good! No graphic? Would probably drive the cost up...huh?

I do not believe it is the excat same silver. Yes, a graphic would drive the cost up, however, depending on interest, a graphic can be cone at a later time. I just wanted to start with something simple and see how well it would be received before having a bunch made.

These decals will go on real easy. just clean the area where you want to apply it (prefereably with alcohol), peel, stick, and wipe down to make sure it is on there good.

I don't like the font particulary, but I have looked through 50 on my comp and can't seem to find one I like... I'm not sure what I want.. maybe italic print would make it look faster...

Not to steal what you're up to Vman, just seeing if I may be of some help. Also, what about who's making the Decals? print shop all lined up? Reason for asking, yea I know late to the party, I have a company here in Portland that did the ones for PMWriders, hell of a job and the price was wow! Here's the decal I had made. again it's all FWIW

And then here it is applied

I can see a clean classy VFRworld decal on the other side but it's going to have to be Very cool to match this one

I have a print shop here that gave em a good pricefor solid colors and the specialty stuff like carbon fiber, since I am doing a small amount to start. He said if I were doing a run of say about 100 then he could get the price a lower. I like the PNW Riders decal. Something similar would be another option we could have. For the moment, until I can get a good read on interest, I am keeping it simple. Reg, I can probably get them to do italic. This was just a quick sample the owner did for me. I am open to ideas and samples if anyone has any.

    Times New Roman:

    www.vfrworld.com

    Verdana:

I have some www.vfrworld.com decals on hand. I have Black, white, red, blue, and carbon fiber. They are similar to the one I put a pic of in my earlier post, except I changed it from a straight arial bold font to arial italic. Cost is $4.00 each for the solid colors, $5.00 each for the Carbon Fiber. Those interested please PM me to order. I will also donate some of the money from the sale to vfrworld.com, so not only will you be advertising, you will be helping support the site.

Here is what the black , white, and red look like. Well, sorta, I did not remove the protective covering so the white and the red don not look as clear as the black, which has a clear covering.

I understand. I went ahead and had these made since they were simple decals. Its just a standard arial font in bold italic. No one else has submitted any suggestions for something else yet except for the decal example from pnwriders by rvfr. As before, if someone has a design or something, I can always go and get an estimated cost for production. We are open to ideas so please make suggestions. And the pic above is not the best visual. I will get one on my bike in the next day or two and get another pic.

I am down with Reg and R.W. I would do some advertising too if the decals were a little more creative. I think the logo from the top left corner of the site would make an excellent decal and just add ".com" to it. Will Michael give you the OK to use it? You could go to almost any sign shop or sticker manufacturer, have them load the page and use the logo on their creation software.

I am sure Michael would have no problem with allowing me to use the logo. I will check on cost for that tomorrow. I just thought this would make good start with womething simple.

Here are a couple of pics of one I put on my bike. It's not centered (I do not profess to be a pro at installing decals) and in after thoght I could have put down lower in the vent recess, close to the honda decal.

Here are some other mock ups I made in MS Word (all fonts shown are in bold and italic):
    WWW.VFRWORLD.COM Comic Sans MS

    WWW.VFRWORLD.COM Georgia

    WWW.VFRWORLD.COM Garamond

    WWW.VFRWORLD.COM Impact

    WWW.VFRWORLD.COM Verdana

    WWW.VFRWORLD.COM Times New Roman

I have used some other fonts in the mock ups here. If someone would like the word doc I can email it to you so you can see what I have so far and if you want you can add to it and send it back so I can see what your suggestoins are, or post suggestions for a font type here and I will add it to my samples. Then we can choose the final font type. The ones I have now were just to get the ball rolling in case someone wanted any.

Hey Vin, how about checking with your shop about using the logo like Zonaman said that's in the top left. I don't think you need the www anymore it's superfluous, but you could just add the .com and it's good to go. I'd be interested to see how much they want. I'm hoping RVFR comes up with something cool too, though...

Reg, I second that. Vman your a real go getter. This is a great idea and we'll all be proud of our decals when the final batch comes out.

Is that like a third superfluos nipple?

I was just messing around with this. Could maybe outline "world.com" in black. I'm no designer but I figured I would give an idea

burner, that looks pretty good. Reg, I sent an email to the sign shop with a copy of the image of the logo and with the suggestion of adding ".com" to the lower rign under the lower rigth corner. They replied that they could not make changes to the file I sent, that it needed to be in eps format, whatever that is. So I might nerd to find a different shop for that kind of logo unless someone can convert it for me.
