My 2004 VFR was stolen yesterday in Weaverville CA. The thieves took it from the motel parking lot while I was sleeping. More on this after I return home tomorrow. The VFR is distinctive with CZ wheels and Ohlins and new paint.

Makes me want to go ahead and buy that motion alarmed brake rotor lock. Where I live that will get you a legally shot bullet placed into your body.

I hope the scum is found. If my bike ever gets stolen though, I don't want it back. Sorry to hear such bummer news.

What an Fn bummmer, and right under your noise

Sad, but some people are effed up. It might pop up, but there are ways for the thieves to deal with the VIN and title issues. The VFR has a lot of bolt-on mods and new paint, but that won't help the LEOs find it if they're looking at the VIN and license plate - which is what they will do.

I was considering buying a Scorpio GPS anti-theft tracking device, but too late for the VFR. I am going to buy one today for the Ducati, though!

What a bummer, way the hell out in the middle of nowhere! What color was the bike? Red, if it is the one in your avitar. Will keep an eye out down here in the bay area on CL. They probably don't have a clue what they got, just an easy target. Hope it works out somehow, sounds like you put a lot of effort into it.

Sorry to hear this. It just plain and simply sucks. Hope they catch them and cut their nuts off.

Had someone try to get mine years ago but had a rotor lock on the front and huge chain wrapped all around rear. It was spun around in opposite direction the next morning, cover all wound up in wheels, on side stand instead of center stand I left it on, and it had fallen over. Luckily, only did few small scratches on crank case cover and bar end weight. It changed garaging locations after that but I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it the next morning so I can imagine how you feel. Best of luck on getting her back.

Sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you. Happened to me years ago with a VF1000R. I live in Crescent city about 100 miles west. I'll keep an eye out!

Hopefully with the power of the Internet they'll be enough people looking out for it that the police can get some leads. Sorry you have to go through this! Thieves are the worst!

That area is so written for the motorcycle adventures, love the area. your incident makes me recall on a recent Nat. Geo program covering drug problems, they had painted a pretty grime picture about how infested the N.Ca is. Really is just a bunch of drug heads. Sad and here I was thinking of doing an in depth run around there next riding season SMH on that one now. Yes post a photo, good way to get it out there lots of good folks here and VFRD that can spread the word, ya never know, hang in there.

If I've got the bike at a hotel I'll throw on an alarmed rotor lock and park it as close to the room as possible.

Sorry to hear this. I felt infuriated with the theft of my bicycle. Can't imagine how I would feel about the bike. Then again, I have declared insurance on my bike which I believe to be a lot more than it is worth.

Hate to be the one putting a downer on this Alaskan, but I bet your beaut has been stripped down already.

There are tracking chips available over in Europe. I wonder if they are available here?

Kind of an odd statement....not sure what you are trying to say. People that do drugs aren't the only one's stealing motorcycles and I really doubt it was this time. My guess is that it's somebody from the Seattle area....with their long beards and drinking all those micro brews with their pinkies sticking out....
