    Hello,

I just wanted to make everyone aware of this person trying to scam people in the US with a VFR sale.

The add of the bike is the following:

Looks like an awesome bike huh? Well the selling price is $4400!!! That is already enough to raise so eyebrows. Well, here is the first email I got:

My bike is a 2007 Honda VFR800FI Interceptor. Almost 5,500 miles. Clean title in hand. The price is $4,400. You can find more pics here:

As you probably noticed, the price is rather low, I can ship the bike to you and you will pay C.O.D (CASH ON DELIVERY) the reason I'm selling the bike at this price because when I was in USA and bought the bike from USA and I took it with me in Italy. I work on a cruise ship, I'm naval officer, work 6 months on board and 3 months stay home, at this moment I'm home.
The bike is here in my garage in Italy, you can drive/ride a unregistered vehicle only 3 months in Italy then you have to register the vehicle to get italian plates. I have the all documents but the bike has US documents and I can't register the bike in Italy because the law doesn't let me. Now, I can't come to USA to sell the bike because I'll spend much money and lose more time, my only chance to sell this bike is to find a buyer in the U.S. or in another country. I can send the bike to your home, shipping will take approximately 10-15 working days, after you receive the bike you have another two days to inspect. When the inspection period ends, the shipping company will contact you and if there are any issues with the bike. If all is good, I'm sure it will be, they will help you with the transfer of ownership. If you want to get more details please let me know your phone number and I will call you as soon I can.

So I did a little research online and found this. Search google for "sergio motorcycle scam". It is the first link in LS1tech forum.

Is is amazing how similar my emails are to the ones on the thread above, huh?

Well, be aware and if it is too good to be true... You know the rest.

Yep, fairly common craigslist scam. BTW, I have to say that bike looks gorgeous with the bags :)
