I have a 99 VFR800 i recently bought. Someone rebuilt the front forks & they are rock solid still. No rebound at all. Does anybody know what other year VFR forks would be a direct replacement for my 99. Will the older VFR 750 forks work? I figured it would be easier to just replace them, then to tear into them & try to figure out what is going on with them.

Yes, CBR F3 internals will drop into your forks. This will give you rebound. However, don't stop there! Get springs and fork oil from Race Tech Inc.

    You'll be good to go!

My guess is that your gonna have to crack 'em open to see if they were assembled correctly. Any other fork will need a total brake redo if thats what you want. VFR750, F3, and super hawk will drop in to your triple clamps. Also F3 and Super Hawk guts will drop into your upper and lower tubes too.

My 5th gen is built with VFR800 upper tubes, SH lower legs, SH guts, Traxxion Dynamics valving, and a 1.0 Hyperpro spring.

I pulled the forks off today & looks like someone put trans. fluid in them as it was red. I drained them & added Belray 7w fork oil & all is good now. I will finish putting the plastics on tomorrow & take it for a spin. Thanks for the info.
Off topic but how come i am not getting email alerts when somebody replies to my posts. I am set up for instant emails but dont get them?
