VFR 400nc30 charging problem

    My battery seems to be fine and then it kind of dies after going for a ride. and there is a clicking sound from the rectifier. i have changed this and also tested the altenator, and bought a new battery so it dont seem to be any of these, please help many thanxs...........:unsure:

    Check the grounds. 400's came from Japan where they are abused by some very nasty weather(salt ther in the U.K. too). I would pull all the connectors for the battery and charging system and clean all the terminals. I would remove all the grounding points and run them over with a wire brush. if that doesn't work I would have the altanater tested with a megger by an electrician to see if it was fried.
