Air injection control valve... There's a vacuum tap off the manifold and I've always made sure it's connected but I don't quite understand what this apparatus does. The tech manual isn't helpful. Can anyone elaborate?
    Thanks,
    TT

It's a lot of trouble to do properly and doesn't affect engine performance--it's all downstream of the combustion chamber and just bleeds some clean air into the exhaust mixture. The front side is easy to remove but you'll be cussing like a sailor when you get to the rear.

Like Kenny said, leave it alone. It isn't hurting performance one little bit.

yep, you're all right. It stays on. I'm having enough problems with the damn carb sync process as it is.
