VF750f Front Fork replacement options

I've got a 1983 VF750F which I need some front forks for.

My question is, does anyone know if I have to get the same exact forks from the F model, like if there were any weird changes in the years? If not, what other year ranges/models will work for a replacement? Thanks!

 

I had to get fork tubes for a 1985 vf700f and I just went the safe route and ordered bran new ones. Call Frank's Forks out in Illinois. A brand new set of 2 Fork tubes will cost just under $300. Unless youre missing the internals too I wouldnt take a chance buying used forks. All it takes is a nick or a little bit of rust on the sliding surface and you're screwed.

 

I wish I had the money to pay that much for forks.....I've gotta find a good used set out there somehow, unfortunately.
