Hey guys! Being a resident of Seattle, I seem to find myself riding in the rain... a lot. My current tires only have ~ 1,500 miles on them, but I was wondering if anyone had tire/size/pressure recommendations for riding that involves a lot of water/potentially ice. I've looked around on the forums and it seems like people really like Bridgestone Battlax BT45's, but no mention of their rain performance so far. Currently I'm running IRC Road Winner RW-010r's, and the rear is a 110. Thanks!

    Maybe a dual sport? Rear

can't say they'll let you drag a knee on dry but wet traction is all about shedding water and the only thing I trust in full wet are the Pirelli MT16 tires my CR500 wears

the BT45's(Iam running my first set) are a good tire ALOT better than what I had before ...anyway the little bit of wet road that I have ridden on in the past few weeks they seemed to stick quite nicely no slipping or sliding... maybe therea re a few others that live in wetter climates than I that will chime in...

I got some Avon Roadriders for my 85 VF700F and I actually love them. They aren't soft compound but they are much sportier than the oem tread. I think for both tires shipped it was $160 from Rocky Mountain MC/ATV. I'd recommend them.

Awesome, thanks so much guys! The snow has melted and it's bright and sunny out... I have never had cabin fever this bad until I got a motorcycle.
Final noob question: How long do you let your bikes warm up for before you check the oil level? The temp gauge on mine seems reasonably inaccurate, and it's always pretty cold out when I start my bike.

I have run the Dunlop Sportmax (not the Q2) tires in the wet with success on my cruise up to Seattle and back. They are abit short lived though. I am curious to run the Q2's.

edit: Not sure of the available tire sizes. I pulled another 2k ride this summer up that direction on the pirelli sport demons, but it was only misty all morning and not rain. Good luck

Metzler lazertech's are quite good in the wet. I've raced an RZ with them and others I know have raced them in the wet rather than a set of rains. Not saying they are as good as rains but you don't have to change them at the track everytime the weather turns. They are very good tires in the dry as well.
