VF500F petcock

    Can an 85 VF500F petcock be used on an 86 VF500F tank? I potentially have a tank lined up, but it doesn't have the petcock.

    It is a matter of a couple of weeks to attempt this modification as I am facing the same issue.
    I have the whole project in my head but not enough time to implement it. The basic idea relies on the fact that the '86 petcock has 5mm longer distance between the tank mating surface and the knob axle.
    Those 5 mm will be used for the adapting plate, a 5mm aluminum flat piece.
