VF500 Parts Avalibility

This question may have been answered and if so I apologize for the redundancy but is there a parts resource on this forum for the VF500?

There is a nice 86 VF500 on CL less then ten miles from my house. It smokes. The guy has the original engine in a box and that engine was showing water in the oil. Both engines will need building. The price is right but the parts availability was why I sold my old VF (plus I wanted something bigger to ride). Is there any way of obtaining rebuild parts like rings, valves and gaskets?

I think I am nuts for even considering this.

 

David Silver Spares and CMSNL have limited stock of new parts. Otherwise it's Ebay. Gaskets you can definitely get on Ebay, not OEM but then these bikes are pretty ancient now. CMSNL are top price too but then why wouldn't they be. As far as I konw the parts resource on this forum works along the lines of "Does anyone have......?" Seems to work OK too.

Thankfully the ad was gone this morning. I guess someone snapped it up. At $250 for a titled, running but smoking bike, with a spare motor, it was a pretty good deal. Maybe the afore mentioned information will help the new owner or be looking for some parts, including body work, to appear on eBay in the near future.
