Vf500 clutch push rod leak

    Any suggestions got a leak on the clutch pushrod oil seal, already have replaced the seal internally when the engine cases were split and new push rod all new genuine Honda parts.
    Getting annoyed with the bike now ?
    Any suggestions.
    Also small water leak from telltale hole on water pump , any suggestion there

    Which problem water or the oil from the push rod.

    Make sure the push rod does not have any knicks iin it. The necked down portion, drawings show that should be to the left of the bike but common sense and no leaks even with a turbocharged motor say that necked down portion goes to the right sinde..... also make sure you crankcase ventilation is working

    Thanks, what makes you say the rod should be turned the other way around against both the Honda and clymer manuals?
    I will check the breather system as you suggested good point

    It does NOT leak when it's set up that way. Also if you look at things disassembled, there's a LOT of things going on in the neighborhood of the clutch hub area right where the necked down portion of the rod is.

    Did you try turning the pushrod around?
