Found the plastic "Z" shaped fuel connector between my 84/85 carbs (I think, and on an 86 engine, I think) was toast, had been 'repaired' by a PO and now falling apart. Of course no longer available from Honda but found a new aluminum replacement from V4market.com. Not cheap at $55 shipped (USA) but considering the time and effort I would have to go through to fabricate one a bargain in my eyes. Photo of the old/new attached.

Part is called "Fuel Tube V30, "Z" tube" on their website, listed in the "86 VF500F" category (but not in the 84/85 category). I'm still confused about the differences between the 84,85 and 86 carbs, having found conflicting information (like the factory exploded diagram which with some specific parts don't resemble my carbs at all) and situations. I have posted a question here on VFRWorld specific to that but since no one has answered it appears I am not the only one that is confused.
