VF400F and VF500F Fuel tanks the same?

    Hi Everyone,

    I am trying to get my Dad's old VF500F going again and the fuel tank is rusted through. I have been unable to source a VF500F tank but have found a breakers with a tank from a VF400F.

    Does anyone know if the tanks are the same?

    Superficially they might look the same but I suspect they will be quite different in the way they fit. The devil is in the detail with Japanese bikes I am afraid to say. However if you succeed and they are the same please let us know. I have owned both but with a 30 year gap between so I am no help really.

    Yellow card to Jeremy. They are the same and interchangable. The only difference is in the petcock. I had both bikes and verifyed.
