    Ok Guys,
You folks got my 1986 vF1000r going again last year after being dormant for over two years. For the first three weeks the bike ran great then I let the bike sit for about three weeks. It started right up but I could tell the bike sounded quite quieter than before. Now the bike will not idle without the choke on. I adjusted the idle but that didn't work. I added a lot of carb cleaner to the fuel and that did not do anything. I did run the fuel that was is the tank for over two years. Any thoughts??? Last year is was the rectifier. Thanks.

Pilot circuit in the carbs are dirty/blocked. You should have dumped that gas. Check your tank for rust, check for a possible plugged fuel filter and check the petcock to make sure fuel is flowing good. Most likely the carbs need to be done. If you need help with them pm me I can either walk you through it or do them for you. Good luck.

It is really important these days to drain the fuel in the carbs. They will varnish as much in 3 months as they used to in 3 years.
