Picked up these two VF1000Rs in Rhode Island last weekend…. 86 is complete but in parts thanks to top end problems. Extra engine came with tho! ‘85 is a complete bike, non-runner.

Interesting piece - found this deposit receipt in the little govebox compartment in n the ‘85. Looks like the bike may have been bought in Japan by a a soldier in the US Armed Forces? Anyone seen anything like this before, or know anything about the US Army purchase program?[IMG]

Thanks Mario! Pulled the carbs on both bikes for rebuilding - the ‘85 seems to be a California model - sees to be extra vacuum lines and canisters plumbed in. Weird that it ended up on the east coast, but if the guy was in the army, I guess that makes sense.

Yea they have 4 NR’s there… the one being worked on is Michael Manns bike… he had owned it for 20 years .. wants to ride it again. The o rings that seal the injectors are toast so new o rings needed. Honda Civic o rings are used for the jib… go figure!

Yes, NR parts are super scarce so Honda superseded the o ring part number to Honda Civic o rings

I dunno, looks complicated because of all the butterflies, but zoom in and looks like the fuel rail and injectors are off for cleaning…. Bolt on, plug in…. Bobs your uncle. Carburetor tuning is a true art.

This is so far over my head I don't know what to say. Anyone taking on a VF1000 is worthy of respect!

And that NR is insane....I can't even....
