Has anybody here used a ventura Euro-Rally bag?
I'm curious to know exactly how "lockable" it is to the frame, the best description I can find is it has D-Shackles to lock but I cant find a clear picture. Also wanting to know if the zips have a designated padlock eye or if you can only run a small padlock through the end of the zip tabs to try and make it more secure
I realise a top box is always going to be a more secure option but I quite like the size of the bag and the fact it expands

The "D" rings are just sewn onto the bag with web strapping which is very easy to cut the zipper has holes for a small padlock

BUT I would only use these methods for security for a short time whilst going into a shop NOT leaving a helmet or jacket on the bike whilst you spend time away from the bike unless you can see the bike / bag

I recently sold my Ventura euro bag and rack after finding the bag had been interfered with several times

They forced the zip apart with a sharp object in between the teeth of the zip so the padlock is only to keep an honest thief out of the bag

I am sure even a hard case could be stolen or broken into with out too much effort if they really want the contents

I now have a Givi Monorack with a V46 top box And this is actually 100% waterproof unlike the Ventura after a couple of hours of wet riding

Cheers Grumpy, sorry to hear you've such issues with people being dicks. I have a reasonably sensitive alarm on the bike that I'm hoping would trigger if somebody starts messing with the bag but you're right, I imagine nothing would stop a determined thief
