Well, after having all the body work, including tank off my 5th gen, I checked the valves and all are well within spec. Still I feel better about it. Also had the opportunity to clean off years of road grime from under the body work. Next up...coolant flush and change, oil & filter change, clutch fluid change and bleed, brake fluid change and bleed, which looks like a huge pain. But with winter firmly entrenched, I've got all the time I need. Still have the mighty ZRX1200 ready to go if the weather allows. Not to mention when I get the VFR together, and it's super clean....... don't really want to start to re-grime it on these winter filthy roads. Front Pilot power looks new from the side, but center is down to the wear bars, so new tires are in order. The rear Metzler is fairly new, but I think I'll replace both at the same time, cause nothing feels better than 2 new tires! Conti Road Attacks for me. On set # 4 on the REX......love em! I'm so excited about this VFR, that I may just ride it down to the May ZRX rally in Eurika Springs Arkansas. My REX is a perfect companion in the twisty curvey bits in the Ozarks, with its unreal torque and great brakes, but I think the VFR might be as much fun, just have to keep the rev's up I'm thinking. I know it sounds really good thru the Akrapovic! I've got a full Akrapovic system on the REX too, but the howl from the Honda trumps the growl from the Kwacker. Can't wait to be finished and ready to thrash this thing in the spring!!
P.S. All brake pads look new, and it already had a K & N air filter! Plus the fork tubes are already dropped 10mm. The filters clean & dry now and ready for a recharge. Am I just too excited or what?
Sounds like you've got some stuff to keep you busy this winter! Clutch and brake bleeds are pretty simple. Just be careful with the fluid on paint obviously. Just takes some time. Enjoy!
