Hey guys, my 02 800 has 14k miles on here and I think I read somewhere about having the valves adjusted somewhere in that neighborhood. Can someone enlighten me on whether or not this is needed.

The schedule is like 16k, 32k 48k etc. Most are in spec @ 16k, it's up to you if you get them done there. You could probably wait until the 32k, but personally I'd have it done. It's a pricey service and can cost between $350-800.

What does the Owner's Manual say? I figure Honda would know if it's needed or not.

Owners manual is 16 intervals. I think most all hondas are 16. I waited on my 98 until 32k and just about all of them were in spec. The couple that were out were borderline. I figured since I had it that far apart I would make them all perfect. But I hear the v-tec process is a lot more involved. If you can afford to take it to someoneyou trust and have Iit done I would. Just for the peace of mind. But I would guess at 16 they are still in spec. Let us know if you do have it done how it came out. Good luck

My '07 has more than 16K miles on it and after reading many postings about this subject, I have decided to wait until the 32K mark. I don't think I've seen an instance where they were out of spec at 16K.

I agree with Stewart. But if you can do it or afford to get it done, then do it for peace of mind. Judging by the number of miles you put in the last 10 years you don't ride your bike much often. So get it done now and then after 10 years again..

Others have reported that it cost them upwards of $800 to have it done. Evidently, it is a pretty involved procedure.
