V30 triple clamps on a VF500F?

So I want to put regular handlebars on my VF500F project, and thought that a cheap way to do that would be to simply use the triples off a V30. Both bikes have the same steering stem bearings and nuts part numbers which is a good sign. What I don't know is how long the stem on the V30 is, and I'm hoping someone can help out before I plunk down some cash for a set. I understand that the offsets and steering stops may be different between the two, but I'm willing to chance those things, especially if I can get a set cheap.

Does anyone have a V30 stem that they can measure for me? Or has someone done this swap already?
