I just bought a zero gravity doublebubble windscreen and during removal of the original the plastic with a threaded insert broke off the upper fairing where the screw goes through the top aft end of the windscreen to the fairing. It appears to be a like a riveted in nut plate or something, but was wondering how i could repair it without buying a new fairing. I did look in the illustated parts catalog but it does not show. It is part of the upper plastic fairing. The screw goes thorugh the plastic inner molding next to the instrument cluster through the windscreen hten to the fairing insert. Has anyone had this happen to them? Thinking about using a screw insert within a rubber grommet and epoxying it onto the plastic? Any ideas?
