Alright i got my vfr now i'm thinking of what to start upgrading and i need your opinions and advice. everything on the bike is stock except for a staintune exhaust. i like the exhaust my only problem with it is that its too quite. so i might consider doing that. also i'm def. going to get some frame sliders which ones do you guys recommend? i want a redish windshield to match the bike. and i also want couple addons that will increase the bikes hp. what upgrades do you think are cost effective and help the bike's hp? thanks for the help in advance

not too deep (seeing how i go to college and work full time to pay the bills ) but i also don't want to buy everything at once. prob get the power commander and k&n filter this year. also a bunch of cosmetic things. if you see anything that will look good on the bike, link it so i can check it out. i still want the bike to look good, not into cheesy bikes with bunch of stickers n stuff lol

Suspension needs improvement first according to setup customized to your weight and riding style by various means depending upon what you spend.

A better rear shock always helps, especially when mileage on stock is anything over about 30,000 miles, by which time 95% are worn out.

The best bang for the buck is in the suspension. Everything else is whipped cream.

For guys asking about upgrades, I aways say the same thing..... First - just ride it and get to know your bike. Then in a few months, decide what bugs you and work on that.

i'm def going to do a bunch of riding before i decide on what i exactly want performance wise. and i believe the bike already has after market suspension. next to the passanger footpeg. there is a black metal tube looking thing with a knob when i asked the dealership what it was he said its to adjust the suspension so i think its already upgraded. i'll take a closer look at it and see what it exactly is when i get a chance.

You won't be able to squeeze much out of her in terms of HP, unless you spend some serious cash.

You might want to consider an aftermarket seat if you're into long rides, watching sunsets, or walks on the beach. Corbin and Sargent are 2 that come to mind, or get your seat custom matched for your ass.

Suspension in a huge pitfall in these bikes. Find out what you have front and back. This would be money well spent.

Lots of people rave about the Staintune, but it doesn't matter what they think. Its what you like. I happen to prefer my 2 BR over Staintune. Don't mean shit, as its just my opinion.

Make sure you got some decent tires on there. New tires does not necessarily mean good tires.

    Chain and sprockets good?

At 28K, I'd make sure she's up to speed mechanically, and then start getting the farkles. And some other thread on here keeps nagging at me to have the R/R checked...

alright back on track now that i have my bike back. i removed the sound baffle from my staintune exhaust and love the sound of it now so scratch new exhaust off the list. i was thinking about getting these parts now tell me what you guys think or if you know of better deals might purchase some of them this weekend.
Honda VFR800 Fender Eliminators Fender Eliminator Kits
6017 REFLECTIVE RED RIMSTRIPES (1 package = 1 complete bike (both sides of both rims) plus extra material for practice)
i was thinking about getting a power commander and having the dealer install it when they put in my new ecu that comes in 2 weeks. what do you guys think? what kind of hp would i be able to get from it with different maps and how much more mpg if i decide to go on long rides. thanks in advanced =)
