Hey all! It’s been a while since I could have the opportunity to work on the bike I inherited from my grandfather. Finally starting to work on pulling the carbs and got hung up with an issue with removing the fuel tank. I had the main bolt removed and all connections undone yet couldn’t figure out why the rear of the tank wouldn’t lift. Come to find out there’s a metal dowel (the bolt that fasens the tank runs through it) that bridges the gap between these two eyelets. Sometimes the dowel can shift to the side and sit inside one of the eyelets. Took an Allen key and the rubber mallet to tap it back through into its normal place.
This is my first bike, and only mechanics knowledge is coming from the work I’ve learned on my car, and the good ol YouTube certification under my belt.
This is likely known by the members here on the forums but wanted to post it just in case someone may be having the same issue. [IMG]

    You can do this!
Do you have the Honda service manual? Highly recommended reading.
    Where abouts are you located?

No, I don’t. I had one on order but it got cancelled due to “no inventory”. Honestly I really should order another. I’m in Roseville CA (USA)

difficult bike to ride for beginner without some practice and experience, so get some training. service manual is available online here.

be sure to maintain proper tire pressures at all times, usually about 33 psi front/36 rear. check it often.
