Unsolicited Messages?

I have a member calling themselves "Erin Pavlina" who sent me a message about viewing a book through this website. Is this legit or is this a spammer or hacker? Is there someone on this website I should forward this to so they can be blocked? I'm not familiar with this kinda stuff, so forgive my ignorance, but I am assuming this is unwanted.

Or am I just supposed to delete it and forget it?

Wow, quick work, thanks Michael. I have a community based site too, and have had the same crap on it. I changed a setting that required new users to have a minimum of 5 posts before they could PM anyone...

I just got the email from the spammer "Pavilina". Having not been on this site for some time - I read part of it. Am I going to run into problems (on my computer) from opening up this email?

Don't know about the email but the PM just pointed me to a site to read an advance copy of a book. There is a paragraph that read something like "If you reached this page because of an unsolicited PM, please read this". THAT page was a diatribe against some other guy who has been reportedly posting the link everywhere. I didn't read much of it.

 

Interestingly, it appears it's a spammer possibly retaliating against someone else...

Wow... last time I was on here was Jan of 06! Sold the VFR's in 05. Getting the message from the spammer was like a blast from the past! Hehe... LOTS of changes since my last visit. Looking good. Sure makes me miss the VFR's!!

 

Dang... my avatar is way outdated too... That was several bikes back! Running a KLR 650 and Vstrom 650 now, but I still steal seat time on VFR's from my other riding buds ;-)

I also got the e-mail (your quick response though ensured that I did not get a PM) but like a dummy I clicked on the link that said I had a PM here at VFR World. :redface:

I did not however click on the link that supposedly was to where the book was. I changed my Password here and hopefully I did not get a virus on my PC.

I read the first chapter. Sounds like a grade 8 wrote it. Very dreary, uneventful and boring. ZZZZZZZZZ
