Unknown buttons on light switch?

    I just picked up and '86 VFR750 and it has a red and black button the light switch that I have no idea what they are for? Anyone have a clue?

    after market laser light, jk idk, someone thought they needed an extra button. not stock.

    It does look after market for sure. Is it a momentary contact switch? In other words while depressed it completes a circuit and relaeased, it opens the circuit. It could be a passing light where the high beams are hooked up to that switch. Maybe there were driving lights on the bike at one time and that switch was for this purpose. It is a poor switch considering it is exposed to the elements though.

    As far as I can tell, they are not hooked up to anything. Maybe the next time I tear things down I will try to follow the lines. There is a red and black one and they do appear to be momentary buttons (no click) just pressure activated.

    Appreciate the info, helpful to know it is not factory...

    If you are really curious, you'll need to follow the wiring to the other ends, if there is any left. Could've been for an electric vest, lights air horn, heated hand grips, etc. If they are not connected that's the only way I can think of finding out what it is for.
