My wife, elder daughter and I rode to the next town this afternoon to grab a bite to eat, with my daughter 2-up on my bike. On the way back we got stuck behind a Ford Explorer with 4 people in it doing about -5 on the speed limit. Next thing I know I see what looks like the bottom couple inches of an ice cream cone come flying out the passenger side of the car. WTF! So I start to move to the other side of the lane when the person sitting in the passenger side rear sticks a plate of plate of food out the window and lets the food fly! again, WTF!
So I lose my head for a second and go ripping past them in a place I shouldn't have (my daughter tells me after we get home that they threw something out the window when we passed them, I didn't see it) After I get ahead of them I kinda regained myself and relized was daughter was still on (thankfully) and I just stayed in front of them till we got to the intersection of 119 and 12, at which point I pulled to the side of the road and let them pass so I could scream a few more choice words at them. The whole group, including the 40ish woman in the passenger seat (everyone else - early 20s), was laughing and making faces as they went by. Pretty clear indication as far as I'm concerned that the whole episode we intentional. But they turned right when we went straight.
If my daughter weren't on the back of my bike I'd probably still be chasing them.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

Probably in a couple test tubes that were dropped and mixed up when cleaned up with a dirty sponge and put back into new tubes.

And to think, I got mad when the idiot in front of me decided to use his windshield washers, over and over and over. I ended up getting his "bug juicy" ww fluid all over me and my bike. Don't ya love idiots. At least in my case, the guy was just an idiot, not a car load of a$$ holes.

 Man I'm sorry to hear that. Your story started out good for me and as I read it I got more and more . Idiots! My main concern was your family and I'm glad that everyone was okay.

I guess I just have to believe that they will get theirs someday...still

There are lots of sunzabichez in this world...I don't think they shouldn't be allowed to breed, I think they should be forced to have some kind of violent sex with a huge mad & vicious polar bear. With condoms obviously, we don't want the bear to get infected with human stupidity...

I think I would have lost my mind, too. Probably a good thing your kiddo was there to keep you in check! Its a small world, though. You never know when you might pull up behind them again (especially considering how slow they drive).

First thing I did when I got around them was give them a pretty good brake check. The feeling of my daughter slaming into my back made me realize this probably wasn't the time for this.
Unfortunately the car is out of Connecticut, but I will certainly recognize it if I see it again.

In NH as long as it's NOT concealed anyone can carry. Guess I could just strap it to the side of the tank bag. Although reaching over my daughters shoulder with the 9 probably wouldn't have been a great idea either. I have a friend who advocates 9-Volt batteries taped to the bars. I may review how I actually feel about that.

Hah i like the batteries idea...I can't believe people do things like this. I've had retarded assholes throw stuff at me in my car, my buddy riding shotgun chucked an opened but full 20oz mountain dew through there open window ;). Ive also kicked someones door in on my bike...so thats always an option at low-moderate speed.

Man, you guys live in some brutal areas. The only thing I have to watch for is everyone trying to kill me. No one has thrown anything at me.

Dumb question but how does 9-volt batteries taped to bars do anything with rude drivers?

This is actually not the first time this has happened to me. Last year while riding home in the rain I got behind some couple and the guy in the passenger seat was balling up trash, reaching his arm out the window and throwing the trash over the top of car. Given the conditions, that time I felt it best to just pass them and get the hell out of there.

That's pretty much why I never took the suggestion seriously. I was angry enough that If I would have had something to throw, I would have.

Gotcha thanks Randy and dskelton for answering the question. I did figure out at first it's to throw them but I wasn't sure if there was another use for them since it's batteries not just rocks and ball bearings.

Someone from work told me that his father used to carry ball bearings in his motorcycle jacket so he can throw them at rude drivers.

As good it might feel retaliating against them, I'd have to say I'd be more worried about the car getting even. In a fight, the car always wins and it's not worth it.

They were also used to power "Transistor Radios" if you have any idea what those are. I lnow some here do. Lg001 should be one of them. My mom told me about those.

I love the :bs:. But the paint remover...I dunno. What if they are smoking. Where would that leave you if you are close enough to put it through their window? I am just trying to think of another rank substance but off hand I can't think of one. Skunk piss would be a good one but you have to get it.

I did years ago riding the bicycle but that is another story. BTW. Tomato juice DOES NOT work.:frown:

    Hmmmmm....

Has me thinking that a small, hollow, self righting, and very pointy device that's easily dropped in front of tires after a quick pass needs to be invented.

Cages with flats do not retaliate well.

    Off to the drawing board!
