Hey guys, I have an '85 VF500F that I got last summer, and overall it looks pretty good, but there are a couple parts I'd like to clean up.
Namely, the exhaust collector and the center stand, as seen in this picture:

What do you guys recommend for refinishing these two parts?
I can sand blast them myself, but then I'm not sure what to do next.
I was told by a car guy I know to get the center stand powder coated and get the collector ceramic coated.

    What are your opinions?

    Thanks!

You could probably get away with powder coating the collector as well w/ a high temp coating. For durability ceramic is the way to go for exhaust components, but it can be pricy. The high temp powder coating will take it but won't have the longevity of ceramic but much cheaper & the parts are small so they can be cured in a small/sample oven which should save you money as any shade tree powder coater will be able to do for you.

I see you are in WI, if you wanted to pull the parts & sand blast them; I could do them for you. You'd just have to send me the parts, but I'm sure finding some one in Milw. should be fairly easy as well. PM if you're intersted
