This has been a very tough decision for me but as much as I feel blessed to have owned a VFR and to feel how special it has been to have one of the best bikes on the road, I have decided to give it up. This is my first bike and I have enjoyed it but I feel I just do not have the same passion for riding as many of you here at VFRWorld. Having the bike has been very nice but I have not even had it out this year which is sad to have such a bike to just sit there when it could have an owner that truley appreciates this amazing machine.

I really want to thank everybody on this site cause you guys have really made riding and ownership of a VFR truley special. I have been a member for a while now and I have the decals and I even became an insider when it first came out. Everybody who has helped with any questions and to read all of your adventures has been just awesome. I think all of you should feel special to be apart of a great club that has come along way and has turned into something so great.

If I could trouble you guys for one last time for one last question, that would be great if I could get some help. I plan on listing the bike or sale and I really do not know what it is worth in todays market.

It is a 1995 4th gen VFR with 12k miles on it. It is in good condition with a few blemishes here and there. No problems, runs great. Never been laid down or anything. New tires 1200 miles ago. Corbin seat with pass back rest. seat cowl. New front fork seal 8 moths ago with progressive springs put in. 2 bro slip on. tinted double bub windshield.

Any ideas of what I could ask for it would be great. I tried to find some on the net to get an idea but did not have much luck. I checked ebay also no luck. I got the bike as a gift from a friend who I did alot for to help him and his family. I thought it would be awesome to have a bike and go riding but again I just dont seem to have that passion.

Please let me know what you all think. I would truly appreciate it. Thank you all in advance.

    Hey Mike,

Sorry to see that you've decided to part with your VFR, but well stated in your post. I echo a lot of your sentiments as far as the benefits from this forum and the camaraderie.

Can't help you out with pricing, but I'm sure somebody will.

Motorcycling is not in all of us and it's perfectly understandable that you would prefer to sell rather than trying to get into something you're just not into. Thank You for the kind sentiments.

In terms of re-sale, unfortunately the factory rebates on the '07's have dropped pricing across the board. I am seeing 02 and 03 models, in good shape, for less then $4000. The low miles on your machine is however worth something. I would take the first $3000 that comes along, understanding that roughly $2500 is probably what it's going to fetch if you want to sell it in any sort of timely fashion.

    Best of luck!

Location is key but I'd say you're in the neighborhood of $2200-$2400. What those blemishes look like will be a huge factor. Your extras won't mean shit until the guy's trying to whittle down your price and then you can use them to hold firm.

I've watched this guy with a completely cherry 3rd gen not able to sell this for 6 months:
    1991 Honda VFR 750

Also this one has been around since last fall and still not sold:
    Honda 1991 VFR 750

Being a dealer they don't really expect to get that price but I looked at it back in November of last year.

You're 4th gen is essentially the same animal and I wouldn't expect it to price out any different. Low miles and good rubber will be a plus. Keep in mind that a brand new 2007 VFR left over is selling for $7k. I've seen a lot of 5th gen bikes going for $3000-$3500.

Sorry to hear your gonna sell your bike but understand, I think $2500 is a fair price. That is what I paid for the last gen 4 I bought and it sounds like the two are comparable.

I agree with everyone. I think if you can get $3000, take it. It's a good time to sell and the prices will drop when riding season ends... Unless you are out west. I didn't look at your location. See if you can get RVFR to buy it so he'll quit whining about honda not making the new VFR more sporty. Like his tight ass was gonna pay $15k anyway...
