Was in Costco today and notice they'er selling the TomTom XL335*S fpr $99.95.

So far the TT is very fast. One thing I dont like is no large display for MPH. What I do like is, it's built really well with a single usb port on the bottom and a single on/off button on the top. Should be easy to make weather proof.

No external memory slot will limit the options. I did manage to gain 260 mb of ram by deleting all but one voice.

they also have a Garmin on sale for $150 in the coupon book, and that comes with lifetime map updates.

I did look at the Garmins and they were not as well built as the TT. Costco has a few Germins on sale. On there website there's a 780 for $150. this thing was like $500. two years back.

But I'll stick to my rule of buying cheap and often when it come to electronics. Keep the GPS's under $100. and computers under $600. and buy a new one every 2~3 years.

I saw the small tomtom for $69 either on tigerdirect or buy.com but I don't know if they are worth it or not... just noting that I saw one in case someone wants one... I still am on the fence about GPS as I just like to wander...
