So I seen an ad posted last month for someone wants to buy my specific bike. He is looking for a vg 1984 750 interceptor. I sent him pics and he said he was interested and to put price on it. So I posted here and got a of ideas what it could be worth.
So I put a price of $2200 on it and he agreed to the price if I want to sell it.
I would consider selling it for a couple of reasons:
    1) Parts are hard to find for these older bikes.
    2) Cam and timing chain issues. This bike has a little chain noise but nothing major and repair guy seems to think it is nothing to worry about.
My bike is very nice and I just spent the last two months going through the bike and replacing many worn parts so she is very nice.
I am also working on a 84 VF1000f so I will still have a vintage V4 Honda when done.
I have thought of replacing it with a VFR750 or 800 and my question is how much better is the VFR compared to my old VF. Are the riding positions similar, how much better ride and handling are the VFRs.
    Thanks

    Decisions decisions

I can't offer an answer to your specific question but wish you luck.

Toe Cutter has rode more than his share of VFRs and all generations so he could offer a constructive answer if you can track him down.

You're old VF will have felt like a stuffed piglet once you hop on a VFR. Seat height is similar, maybe a bit shorter on the VFR. As far as handling, the newer bike's gonna have more modern suspension so an improvement is a given.

All depends what you want a bike for. Is it to ride and have reliable enjoyment or is it to say "I own such and such a bike" (to yourself as much as to anyone else) This is the question I asked myself when I sold a fairly rare 1100RC to finance my VFR, I can honestly say I have never regretted it.

Don't want to come off like I am bashing gen1 owners but ...........any of the other bikes will make the seating position of your bike feel like your sitting in a rocking chair. Every other aspect from engine performance, suspension, over all handling, wind protection, and reliability is WILDLY improved. If you can upgrade , you should. You will thank yourself later.

There's a very similar bike on CL here in Las Vegas. I've seen the bike around, and it's very clean. The guy is asking $2200, and it's been on there awhile, so that's a very fair price.
But it's all about how you feel about the bike, vs. getting something new to replace it.

No I did not buy it new, I just bought it last year, my first bike after many years away from biking. I just took it out of my shop last night after 4 months of winter maintenance.
