    The stock tires are:
    Front; M120/80-16
    Rear; M130/80-18

Will other sizes give are take 10 MM work?

Thanks for the info. Is there any sizes that you could recommend?

You can probably adjust 10mm or so either way on the rear but I wouldn't on the front. As mentioned, if you swtich to F2 wheels it opens up the tire choices immensely. There are serveral brands/models of tires still available for the VF's but they really aren't very good.

    I hope this helps.

Forgive my ignorance. But, are you saying that I should change me rims in order to use the F2 tires? Or are F2 tires able to fit on the rims that I have now? Changing the rims are out right now because I am not fine tuning my bike I just want a new tire. My old one is down to the traction bars and I am worried that it will blow out on me so I don't drive it more than a mile from home. And even then its on empty streets.

The F2 size tires will certainly NOT fit your stock wheels, not even close. The point being made was: if you want good rubber you'll need to switch wheels. The 750's wheels were odd balls at the time so you can imagine what they are now.

    Sorry for the confusion!

Get the stock size for thous stock rims! Its only a tiny 3,00 rim stock rear and 130/80 is the right tire for it. A wider tire will not give better performance, mayby worse on that stock rim.
    My 2 cent....

That doesn't look like traction bars to me, that looks like the cords themselves. that is part of the internal structure of the tire. I would watch yourself on that tire. It is not safe at any distance on the road.

I've got a new set of Battlax BT-45V tires on my '84 vf750. I'm pretty sure they are the best option available. I choose to put a 140 mm wide tire on the back since the rim can handle it. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it is helping my handling at all, I didn't have a Battlax 130 mm on before. Total tire height is about 1 cm taller than stock. You choose...

Traction bars... = the steel belts. That was a joke. Get it? I ordered some tires from the local Excel Motor sports place. They over charge on everything. And try and sell you the most expensive thing they have leaving out the just as good lower priced stuff. For instance I had to ask for Chen Shin tires by name the little Blondie that works there kept saying "Dunlap suggest this..." and "Dunlap doesn't think that you should buy anything but Dunlap..." and my favorite "Dunlap won't warranty tires that are not Dunlap." But I think that I will take the $60 that I saved and by a helmet.
I bought both front and back tires for $120 and they are stock sizes except the ones I bought are 130/90 instead of 130/80 for the rear. I think that they will be fine since they are just a bit taller than stock. Now waiting for them to come and installing them in going to kill me softly.

Man, if I knew you were interested in Cheng Shin tires I would have told you that I have a brand new set sitting here that I would sell cheap. They came with a parts bike I bought but since I do not use the stock wheels anymore they are of no use to me. They have never been mounted and still have the stickers on them! Oh well. If it's not too late to cancel your order let me know.

Why didn't you suggest it earlier that you have some stock tires lying around? How much do you want for them? It might not be to late to get my money back?

Also tell me about Cheng Shin tires. All I have heard is they wear out fast. I don't know what that means for the normal rideing. But tell me some more about them please.

Sorry I thought it would translate pretty well. I have ridden very little on these but only because there was no other choice. I plan on rideing them one more time though once I get my new tires. And I am going to do a burnout that will finish them off. I will record it and post it. It should be fun to watch.

They are the HI-MAX model: 120/80-16 front and 130/90-18 rear. As I said, brand new, never been used, still have the stickers. Make me a reasonable offer and they are yours!

Sorry, I can't take any pictures because my wife took the camera with her while out of town this week. I don't much about Cheng Shin tires except each model was once a 'brand name'. They buy the tooling from other companies and reproduce tires that have been discontinued. Usually they aren't the good names like Dunlop or Michelin, but rather the other guys like Metzler and the like. The construction is consistent with the original manufacturer. The people who use them that I've talked to have all been happy, take that for what it's worth.
