There was an ad in my email from Chaparral motorsports (San Bernadino, Ca.) for a tire sale, so I thought I'd pass it along. Michelin PR3's 120/17 = $133.88 & 180/17 = $175.88 total ($309.76) which is a little weird cause their kit price is $ 311.88, anyway, seems good, don't know if it's exceptional. Free shipping too. John
Great find! My friend has a BMW RT1200 and did a set of PR2's and now is on his second set of PR3's, he felt like he got a fair amount more milage out of the 3's, but for 30% less money for the 2's, that would be worth considering. Thanks John
Just bought Power3s for my '01 and my Duc, we'll have to wait and see how long they last. The last set of Road2s I had on the '09 lasted well over 10K miles:chaingun:
sounds like they would last me at least a year, I saw the p3 were upgrade to be very good in the rain-looks like a really super good all around tire-:spy:
A local shop told me the difference between the pilot 2 and pilot 3. Apparently one was prone to uneven wear/cupping and the other was more consistent. I think he said one had more of a firm compound in the center that helped it in that regard.
which tire was harder in the middle 2 or 3? I would guess the 2 might wear better but not as good in rain-being good in rain -I think is more important than wear-where I am. Up north-with lots of rain!otstir:
Ok :bump: The diVeFRs steed needs a new set of kicks.... Who has heard of the best deal so far and from where? Mich PR 2/3s
I just got an email from Jake Wilson this morning but I have not checked in on their pricing but can say that last few times I was in the market they were among the cheapest. Most of the "regular" place to buy were within $5-$10 of each other.
I found that back when I started this thread (purchased) that some of the vendors also had an EBay site as well as their web site and that sometimes were a bit cheaper there, but as OOTV mentioned they were usually pretty close. If you can get pr3s for around $300 set seems very good. John
Just got an email ad from Chapparel. $10 off if buying two tires, I put the pr3's into the shopping cart (180/17 & 120/17) and came up with $296.76 with free shipping. John
I just ordered a set of Pilot Road 4s off revzilla for $345 shipped. With the $15 in revzilla cashback, that is a net cost of $330.
I only Paid $180 for two M5 metzler latest version tire when they had a special of buy the back tire get the front tire free plus shipping! Match that deal:kc10:
I think I got cheated. Installed pr2's last June and is getting time to get new ones. On the other hand, I think I'll be getting 11k miles out of them by the time I install new ones, but they wont last a year anyways.
No but I think they-M5 should be good for 5,000 miles of really sporty riding! Any way you can't best the price!
