I've got a 5th Gen Yellow VFR 800 with 25000 kms on it and just recently I took it out for a blast, I was sitting at a light and I heard a ticking noise(cams I think or valves) coming from the engine! The bike runs great no problems she's do for an oil change and clutch fluid change which I'm doing tomorrow. Does anyone have any advice on this problem, or has experienced the same so I can fix it or cut it off at the pass before it becomes a major problem. Because I plan to never part with my 5th Gen VFR. Same deal here, y2k Viff with slight tick when the engine is warm. You can check the valve clearance, otherwise I understand electronic injection can make the same sound. I checked my valve clearance and everything is within spec. The best advice I've heard so far is, "don't worry about it unless the click turns into a clack." YMMV Azamat
