If that is a legitimate part, what bike would it go on where it is on the left of the bike? Otherwise mis-printed?

So, get yourself some touch-up paint to match your wheel. Then the center cap will match and look better anyway.

Next the search is on for a cool logo. The dark logo would look great on the bright white:

Oop my calculation of screen size vs. actual says that logo is 3" across. But maybe you can find something smaller. Or create a stencil and spray it with a gloss black, although that sounds very painful. Or you could possibly find a logo online that is a large enough resolution and print a decal. Might need an adhesive to hold it on due to the centrifugal force.

Okay, I'm confused. I'm not sure whether this is a put-on or not. Maybe an excuse to show off the cool wheel? Which is very nice BTW. OTOH, the logo is facing the right way. The very first Honda wings logo was oriented the same way.

The wheelplugs with the reverse logo are very rare. In the world of motorcycles they have great value, much like two headed coins and misprinted postage stamps.

I saw on on Ebay recently go for 100,000 pesos to Jay Leno. One collector traded his children for one for a Harley.

Then again maybe the OP got his on upside down and it just looked backward. Backward as in reversed not backward like SOW.

Today they put logos on both sides of the bike, ala tank decals, with the wide part of the wings facing backwards on both sides, not facing the same way. Thus, it would make common design sense that the tank decal and the center cap on the same side of the bike would match in orientation, and it looks wrong that the wings are opposite in orientation.

Jay, given your sharp design sense I would not have imagined you dismissing this complaint.

    The complaint is legitimate.

I immediately imagined my graphic designer calling the vendor and chewing them out into next year LOL.

Knight, I don't think so. If you look at tank decals, they are designed to be read left to right. So fr'example Triumph is spelled front to back on the left side, and back to front on the right side. So the wings would follow the orientation of the letters. And the original Honda wing logo goes from left to right as being read on the left side of the bike.

Whether it's right or wrong, I would say that this would look more pleasing if it was on the left side of the bike. Just as they are on the bike. If you look at the stickers on the side of the gas tank, the wings point towards the back of the bike. In this case I would have to side with blackboyd and that I would want the wings facing the same way.

The wing is supposed to point to the front. Period.

You could take a high res picture of the one they sent you, crop the wing, crop the "HONDA", use a photo editing program to mirror image the wing, put them back together and print it on a vinyl decal material. Then print a bunch more and sell them to us!

Thurn screwed up - or their Chinese decal supplier screwed up. Thurn should admit it and take the decal back for a full refund including postage.

    Cheers,
    Glenn

Ummm...unless the wheel is positioned exactly right, won't the wing just as often be upside down (or at some other angle) and then pointing in the correct direction....?

Why not stick this on the outside of the sprocket if it bothers you that much.

You could sell it to Sunofwolf as a Honda branded butt plug.

Ok thanks, I'm game. But, really I get what you are getting at. But, look at your tank, it's both ways, this just happens to be the decal from the left side of the tank. They have always has been that way, so I'm not sure it's really that big of a deal, and believe me I'm anal as all get out, as Knight noticed. ;) So in that, I wonder how bad since my white wheel are really white light silver iridescence with a pearl hue if the two whites would clash

You are correct that it is both ways on the tank, but as I mentioned earlier, the feathers point toward the rear of the bike on either side. So the one on the same side as the wheel lug nut side, the Thurn product logo would be in the opposite direction, the feathers would be pointing forward. If it was on the sprocket side, it would be in the same orientation as the logo on that side of the bike. I think this is what he is on about and I would have to go along with him on that.

LOL, ok I give ya that one, but only this time, as what happens when it's USD ;) or just maybe it's a they, Thurn folks drive on the wrong side, or maybe it's not the rear they point to, but the rider. It's all good though. The wheel on the bike goes round-n-round, round-n-round, round-n-round.

The wings have a relative orientation in relation to the text.

A logo that is rotating should be consistent when it is right side up.

The original Honda logo is just one of two logos today. Honda would have copyrights on both logos, each with the wings facing a different direction. For decorative graphics Honda has established a direction for the wings based on the side of the bike the graphic is on.
