    Hey everyone,
I have a 1990 vfr750 and have noticed that when I have the handlebars full left (Like when you're getting off the bike) the throttle sticks, and sometimes accelerates on its own. Has anyone experienced this issue? Anyone have any suggestions? I have a service manual for the bike, but no experience in performing bike repairs. Any advice that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

It's very likely that either your throttle cable(s) has been mis-routed (behind the fork tube, for instance) and is being pushed or pulled by the forks when turning, or you simply have too little slack in the throttle cable (there's a little barrel adjuster w/lock nut about 6" down from the throttle grip).

Check your cable routing and check for some slack (about 1/8" free turn of the throttle is good for most people, although I prefer practically nil).
After adjusting, with the bike idling, turn the bars to full lock left and right, if the revs change keep adding slack until no change (assuming the routing is correct).
If you wind up with way too much free turn of the throttle then the routing must still be wrong.

Have you removed the forks recently?
    Removed the right clip-on bar?
Any other changes in that area?
