Throttle response

    Hi guys long time reader first time poster. Tryed to find it in the threads no luck. Here is the problem. 2004 vfr 800 i have no throttle response between 2500 and 4000 rpm, if i slowly open throttle it increase to about 2500 rpm then just jumps to 4000 and up. Any ideas?

    Can you describe the issue better please? The engine itself cannot "skip" from 2500 to 4000 rpms...... Do you mean it revs ok up to 2500, then uncontrollably accelerates after 2500 up to 4000, and then follows your throttle OK again above that?
    Wow, in an FI bike I am not sure but would look at the throttle butterflies and their movement in throttle bodies; other than that it most likely is in the FI system itself or in a sensor used by that system. Which sensor is the big question.

    How many miles on bike?
    Is there a Power Commander hooked up? (If yes, disconnect and see if issue is resolved)
    Any other modifications made to bike?

    Or does the engine sound like it revs fine but the tachometer gauge is reading wacky?
