So.... removed the carbs, cleaned and just recently it's been warm enough to continue to work on the carbs to reinstall them and get some other things knocked out. Carbs went in fine with new boots and silicone spray. However, now the problem I'm having is when putting the throttle/return cables back, the linkage requires some force to move it! Placed the cables in but it's way too hard when testing the throttle. Any body else encountered this issue? When I had the carbs on the bench to be cleaned I remember testing the linkage and it was smooth as could be. This close to firing up the bike again and now this issue pops up.. Help... anyone. Thank you.
All sorted, Was a "spur of the moment" annoyance... turns out the throttle linkage was bent slightly when I removed the carbs for cleaning, so it was rubbing against one of the breather tubes.. got it straighted out, literally.
Sorry, but shame on you!:blue: Since you screwed up initially, no extra points for finding your errors, two errors: causing damage and not noticing damage. Of course you discovered the problems b4 mounting carbs, right ? :stung: No damage on these rare parts is acceptable or YOU'RE FIRED !!!! :grey:
