Where does one buy those elongated screw for the rear cowl that allow you to hook a bungie cord? Nothing fancy, just a longer bolt with a shoulder to hold the cowl and another shoulder to keep the bunger cord from slipping off. I don't know if these were stock but my '94 only had one. They also allow you to use a coin to remove the cowl (slotted head rather than phillips).

You could try to find OEM bits, or just buy a shoulder screw with the proper thread size, shoulder depth and head you prefer. My 95 doesn't have true shoulder screws, but screws with a shaped spacer on it. I'm sure it's the same as you had on the 94.

Here's a link that I just found when searching "shoulder screw." http://www.rinomechanical.com/shlscrew.htm
These things should be available in any decent fastener shop near you, such as Fastenall. You can try "shoulder bolt" too, if you're web searching.

    Enjoy!

Hey, thanks Vlad! The OEM bits are a bit pricey (and two pieces?!) so I may look for something else. Thanks for the link...

Yea no shit they are. Had both of mine fall out on a ride once and it cost me $30 to replace them. Plus you need some ridiculously huge screwdriver to put them in (a #3 or 4 Phillips I think).

if all you were going to use them for is to hold on the cowl, you can do what i did: get a spare pair of front fender bolts (the ones you need an allen wrench to remove) they thread right in and look great.

That's whats on the bike now -two of the screws used to hold on the rest of the plastic. Having a slotted screw would be convenient, though...
