I can't believe that it was 70 and sunny today in Memphis. I got out and rode around some of the backroads around town and had a blast. I have only had my VFR for 2 weeks and I LOVE IT. I am so glad I sold my Vstar and got this. Something about the sound of the engine and the feel of the twisting road that gives me a perminant smile. Just thought I'd share...

Is it ok to hate you now or later? :) Sounds like a really great time. It's getting very hard, even thou I was out for like 15 minutes at 34 degrees today, at least it was dry and sunny. to be able to ride like I like, spring is a ways off. I long for what you had today.. Glad to hear some are having a good time riding.

This last week has been great, I have had my bike out every day, using to to go everywhere I need to go. Hopefully it'll keep up and I'll never have to put it away. Not likely though.

Dry, sunny, warm. What are these things? The worst fall on record out my way. I would need a snorkle and snowshoes to get anywhere around here at the moment. Usually we get a few good days at this time of year, but not this year. If it isn't raining or blowing there is ice all over the place. Aaargh!!! serious withdrawn problems. I have riden my bike once in six weeks it has been so bad. Anyway enough complaining it can only get better, right?

We are having an unusual winter in the south...It it really warm, and that sucks because it isn't going to kill off the mosquitos for the summer. Hopefully next weekend will be nice for Christmas because I want to ride to my inlaws over in Arkansas. I just can't wait for the spring to come because I am going to do my best to make it over to the Tail of the Dragon with a few friends. Take care.

Weather was great yesterday here in KY. it was about 67 degrees F. A couple of others and myself rode up to Corinth, took US 25 over to Williamstown where we picked up 22. We then rode from there to Falmouth and continued on 22, then made a couple of zig zags over to 165. Those are a couple of great roads. On the way back, we took 22 over to 227 and from there back to Georgetown. 22, 165, and 227 have some great corners. now if I can get my suspension straightened out (like thats gonna happen for someone the weight of a fly) I might be able to pick up some speed. hehee

Hey - the weather in NYC has been incredible also. The temperature hit 60 degrees yesterday and today looks like the same with some lite evening showers predicted. I try to ride year round, and I can ride until the temperature goes below 40 degrees. The way things look at present the days here will be 50 degrees and above and the evenings will be around 40 degrees. As long as it is not too windy or rainy I am good to go. If it is still nice this weekend I may take a ride out to Baltimore just for fun, or else I may go to Alexandria, West Va and DC for the weekend. Any NYC VFR riders let me know if you are still riding.

This isn't right, you guys suck. Hey everyone I put on twelve layers of clothing, three pairs of gloves, and sat on my bike inside the garage for 5 minutes before the hypothermia set in.

Seriously though I'm glad you guys are able to get out there and I'll just have to live vicariously through you until spring.:frown:

This is just jealousy talking but I'm going to have to block these weather threads  I could live with the California boys, but now Tennessee??? If you noticed, the Washington riders have posted five times, do you think were envious?

    BTW welcome to the forum:welcome:

Yeah, R.W., Tennessee is the Volunteer State...

I'll probably have to volunteer to go for a rip through the Smokies.

    Again.

    In 65 degree air.

    The sacrifices we make...:pound:

I think I'm going to go to the basement to fire up the VFR and do a few laps around the furnace. It's the only way I'm gonna see 70 for some time now.

Yet another 70 degree day here in Maryland, I was even riding around at night with just a light jacket. Today is the last day of that for a while, tomorrow its back down to 50. Still warm enough to sneak in a ride though.

I'd be up for it mello. Were you out Sunday by chance? We met up with some riders Sunday at 22 and 10, theres a littel store there. While we were there a couple VFR's pulled in. Also saw someone on a 4th Gen pull up to the intersection and turn south.

The weather is getting back down to the usual December temps. Thats ok though...thats what the make Columbia vertex gear for. For you guys up in Washington, I would trade these few warm days in the winter for the BEAUTIFUL scenery you guys have up there. All I have around Memphis is flat lands. Thats ok though...when my girls are grown and out of the house I am going to travel the country taking my sweet time.

I wouldn't trade the PNW for any area in the country, PNW is the best from March to October :first: but we turn into little babies  from November to March :rain: because of rider withdrawals...

    :drum:

Tell em RW. Even with our 8 weeks of near freezing weather, lot's of our local riders really nookie out.

I always recommend heated grips with any bike that I sell, but often I get "I don't ride when it's cold"!

If this is global warming, bring it on! It's about 70F now, I think that I'll go scratching!
