The trick VFR thread.

For a long time I've wanted to own a V4 superbike, but alas can't afford an RC45. I've owned over 30 bikes and nothing stirs the sould like a v4 on the pipe. The closest I've come was my stock 1987 VFR700. Everone once in a while I see a very tricked out V4 with custom bodywork and close to one-off parts. This what I'll someday build. So I'm asking if you have pics of such a bike or build or there are other threads of such builds, please post a link on here.

Now by "trick" I don't mean you got new paint or bling. I'm talking other than stock bodywork, tail, extreme weight loss, modified type bike. Here are a few pics of what I'm thinking to get this started.

Does that bottom one really have F4 wheels or are they photoshopped in? Hard to tell. Looks sweet though.

Yes the bottom one is a concept photoshop bike.
When and if I do my project I think I like the short, minimalist design of the CBR rear tail. Thoughts....other tails that would look cool? I don't want something fat and long. I want it to be short, stubby and minimalist like the Repsol MotoGP bikes.

Also, what year to use? Wondering if the 1998 to 2001 models' radiators would pose a problem for fitting different bodywork? I'd like to also do an aggressive, different bodywork up front like the new ZX10R.



I think with this bodywork up front and the tail it would give it a very minimalist, light MotoGP look but with a wicked exhaust note.
