Just installed "The Tankslapper" on my bike yesterday and highly suggest for those of you that are like me and don't like the tank bras to invest in one of these. The one I bought only cost $20 and you can barely notice it on the tank. Therefore you don't have a huge bra covering that beautiful tank. Go to http://www.thetankslapper.com/ to check them out. In order to install them easily, you MUST do the water/alcohol mixture that they tell you to use. I tried without it and I had to redo everything because of bubbles and what not. Also for a squeegy, you can use a credit card and attach the soft side of a velcro strap to its edge and work from the middle of the film out. The finish will look like it is not very smooth, but after it sits out in the sun and heats up, it acts like memory film and smooths out. So essentially it will look better as time goes on. For an even better clarity of film, they carry a 3M film that is supposed to be more optically transparent or something. You can look into that if you wanted to. I am very pleased with mine and would recommend it to others as a cheap alternative to protecting your tank. There are pics on their site but I will try to post some of mine soon. Cheers!

Great timing with the post, I was going to pick up one of the "sticker" kinds today on the way home from work. This one looks much better and protects a larger area. Thanks for the info!!

yeah that's another good thing about them. there is no adhesive so you can peel it off and reuse it. no sticky adhesive staying on your tank. shipping was pretty fast too. another thing to keep in mind is to install it inside or on a non-windy day. i installed mine yesterday when it was windy and every small particle that got trapped underneath left a very small air bubble around it. you can see in the 3rd pic where the line of the slapper is. it was really hard to get a shot that would show it. but you see how it blends in well from the other pics (that's a shadow in the first pic). the last pic shows the reflection from the slapper comared to the upper part of the tank. it looks "streaky" at first and then it is supposed to clear up with sun and heat. on a side note, my staintune is going to be in on friday! giggidy goo! i can't wait. my pipe is still for sale $240 until i get the staintune on. pics in the gallery.
