hello all, first time post on this website of yours, must say I'm impressed with it all. just got myself another vfr800, an '04, and I absolutely love it, almost as much as my previous vfr, a '98 model. love the all-day comfort (compared to my old cbr600rr torture rack), love the styling, love the sound, LOVE that single-side swingarm, but not so much love for the occasional bogging at 4500 rpm, or the random stalling when decelerating towards a stop light, or the super-twitchy throttle response. my previous hondas were all very honda-like in manners, not so much this one. bought it with 24k km's and promptly got the valves and brakes done, $1400. ouch. not really too keen on taking it back to our local honda shop here on vancouver island... I'm off to check out the "mechanics garage" forum and see what I can see, maybe get some info on the snorkel/pair/flapper mods. cheers
Love the Island. Lived here for 11 years and cried when I was transferred away. A few nice roads there when you know where to look. Hwy 28 is nice. To bad the Gold River to Tahsis Road was not paved. That would be orgasmic. Welcome to the site. Where on the island? We have a couple members in the Capitol Region.
:welcome: to the madness  Glad to have you, make yourself like at home and do post pictures of your bike or ladies Enjoy your VFR it is a great bike. :thumb:
Welcome aboard sportbikemike! Looking forward to see some pics of your machine and, of course, V.C.I. My parents used to visit my Dad's boss who lived on V.C.I. back in the '80s. Mom and Dad said that it was one of the most beautiful places they'd ever seen (both traveled around the globe extensively). They claimed that V.C.I. was at, or near the top, of their favorite places (such as Ireland, New Zealand, and Zion N.P. ).
thought I put the photos somewhere in here, someday I'll figure out this whole interwebnet gizmo, too busy riding...
So what city. Looks like I may come over to the island possibly next week. Unfortunately a friend pssed yesterday. Campbell River will be the destination if I go.
Wow, I love hire the rear rim screams "single side swing arm" with an accent color. Can't wait to get mine painted.
