The mount that originally came with my trunk(ok, officially it's a topcase, to me it's a trunk) was nice & secure, but put the thing right over the passenger seat. So I finally got a set of the (further back? Other?) mounts; here they are mounted Quite simple to put on. If you're like me and were puzzled by the pictures on sales sites, the bars bolt in two places: front on the passenger peg bracket, the rear replaces the original muffler bolt. Note: the bolt is turned with a hex key, and you WILL need a wrench to hold the nut on the inside. The later mounts also come with two braces that fit on top of the grab handles and bolt to the front of the base plate. The plate that originally came with the trunk(of course) wouldn't quite match up, but just took a little work to make it fit. Here's the original mount: The new not only clears the back seat, moving the thing back makes it easier to mount without worrying about scraping your boot on the thing.
