Yea after a bit of thought., LOL lots of that going on while I can't do much of anything else. Though I love the Duc 1098 and Hyper, along with my sons 954, it has sorta been getting in the way with the decision too, as that's another another sneaky bike that has a lot to offer, but after this mess, I feel at this time comfort is going to start playing into the decision process. So the hunt is on, I'm going to look for the best of the best in a 4th gen. Go figure Huh? makes sense no? okay that said after spending a couple hours on the computer, I'm not finding any, LOL, not that I'm in a hurry between me healing then the time of the year, well you get my drift, but if anyone here comes across one, feel free to let me know whats ya got. Yea had a moment where I thought about a 5th gen (Yellow) Those are cool too, but for the money a 4th gen is better IMO. looking for the most part a one owner mid teens in millage knows everything there is about the bike, treated it with velvet gloves but wasn't afraid to use as it was meant to be rode. I know they're out there. Distance shouldn't be an issue, but something in the sun belt less CA. as I want a 49 state model would be preferred. I found my last one in Az. What's bringing me back big time, After I thought about this after looking at new bike prices  what to replace her with is what the 4th gen is with the bang for the buck, hard to beat this bike for the money. is there better? probably, but not for the money. Touche  nuff said. 4th Gens Rule
Dam decisions- decisions. I like new too, can we say VFR 1200??????
Prove to me any other bike for the money is better and I'll take a hard look. At least this might be fun..love to go bike shopping. Damn 4 months till the bike show.
Thanks guys for your time, VFRW rocks!!

Thats a smart move! 5th gen here an maybe a little biased but if you find another 4th to your liking you will have tons of spare parts from your old bike left over for replacements or upgrades that have not been made to your future bike :)

Yes that's true, if the buy back is at the right price. my experience has been Insurance company's don't usually give stuff away, even if it's broken. so unless it's at a great price, sorry to say, this VFR is a goner. Only thing is, dam that's a new chain and sprocket with 700 miles, sheesh!!!. hmm now that I think about it, so is the battery

If I had to replace my 2nd gen it would be with a 4th gen. Unless I won the lotto. Then I would replace it with 2nd, 3rd and 4th gens. Good luck in the search.

+1 on keeping the bike for parts. Hell, if I was in your situation I'd be thrilled at having 2 sets of wheels; I'd have one set for commuter tires and another set for weekend fun. Good luck with your search!
