Does the arrival of the VFR1200 mean the end of the VFR800? Say it isn't so!

I would like to think it does not but given the crazy offerings from Honda lately it may be the end.

Are they selling a 2010 800 model or leftover '09's?

Yes, it's the end. That same day has come before for the 500, 700, 750 and 1000. It's an evolution. All good things come to an end. I hope the 1200 starts to grow on me soon .........

well, the 6th gen has had a hell of a run. the 7th gen is out but it's still big for a lot of people. I can't say I think they'll drop the 800 yet. It's a hard call. there are a lot of key differences in the 800 and the 1200 that make them both viable for the lineup but I'm not in marketing so I'm just speculating. Who ever knows what Honda is going to do until they do it?

As I understand it, yes. The RWB color combo will be dropped in favor of a nice charcoal color.

To be honest, what difference does it make? The VFR has never been a strong seller. Unless Honda decides to upgrade the bike, how long do they think people will pay good money for a bike that hasn't had a meaningful update in almost a decade? That's how Harley-Davidson markets bikes & look how much VFRWorld ridicules them. Unless Honda decides to make 2 separate models, I don't see how it makes any business sense to keep the 800 in the line up.

If they have the 1200 as a 600lb Touring-Sport & revamp the 800 as a 450lb Sport-Touring, they might be on to something.

Considering the last two "New" bikes (other than the VFR1200) are a 15 year old has been from Honda Europe & a "CrossOver", I wouldn't hold your breath for anything new or good from Honda.

    KC-10 FE out...

The rumor is they're preparing a hybrid (gas-electric) bike for 2011 or 2012 at the latest. Probably cost $25K.

I vote we all write to Honda and tell them that ol KC should be running the show. He is of course, smarter than any of those dudes at Honda. Then again look at what he rides vs all the other shit he only reads about in magazines.

The official Honda USA website shows a 2010 800 VFR (unchanged from '09). The '10 ST1300 is black which is "new" or different from the '09 color. I don't understand that model lineup. My guess is that the 800 VFR is being marketed until they run out of inventory. Only Honda knows for sure.

No it doesn't. It shows the 2009 Interceptor along with all the 2010 models. If you click on Interceptor it says 2009 at the top. Honda Powersports - Street - Sport

I just looked at the Honda UK site, I couldn't find anything there that says it's a 2010 VFR800 either. I did find it interesting that the VFR800 UK is in the Sports Tourers category and in the US it's in Sport. And the VFR1200 is in a new Roadsport category.
